In 1967, Maurice Filliatreau let his son, Paul, have 8 hectares of his vineyard. At that time, rosé wines were predominant and today's prestige surrounding the delicacy of Saumur Champigny had not yet been fully acknowledged. As a lover of these light red wines with berry flavours, Paul Filliatreau devoted all his time to producing them.
To make these flavours appreciated by the public, he travelled all over France. Today, wine lovers seek out "Saumur Champigny wines" from the Filliatreau Estate.
In 1990, Fredrik joined his father at the head of the wine-producing business. Through their method and perseverance, Paul and Fredrik Filliatreau are now running a vineyard of more than 40 hectares.
