Reserve Carignan-Merlot, Le Grand Duc, Vin de France
Quite robust and structured, yet at the same time is made in a modern fruity style. A powerful red fruit nose combines with pepper and cinnamon. A lingering spicy mouthfeel with well structured, smooth tannins.
"Le Grand Duc takes its name from the large and powerful eagle-owl often found hunting for small mammals amongst the twisting vines of many French vineyards. Majestic and barrel shaped, the commanding aristocratic presence of the bird leads to its nickname, The Grand Duke".

Vin de France
What used to be known as Vin de Table, or ‘table wine’ in France, is now called Vin de France, and designates French wine that is not labelled by appellation or region. In past decades, the reputation of these wines was not the best, in part due to rules that forbid the grape variety from being listed on the bottle. In response to growing competitiveness in the global market, the French wine authorities changed the rules and name of the classification, and saw demand for these wines start to rise. This was great news for consumers, as some real gems can be found from producers not limited by classification restrictions. Try our very own Le Grand Duc range – exclusively bottled and labelled for Le Bon Vin.
