This privacy policy sets out how we (Le Bon Vin) use and protect any information that you provide while using this website. This page will be updated in the event that any aspect of this policy does change, but if you have any questions or concerns in relation to this policy, we do ask you contact us to discuss the matter further.

What we collect

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Name.
  • Contact information (including email address and telephone number).
  • Demographic information such as address, date of birth and (optionally) gender.
  • Details of all orders associated with your account.
  • Reference(s) to payment information securely stored by our credit processor (SagePay), if you have chosen to save card information for future use.
  • Other information relevant to offers, promotions or surveys that you have chosen to participate in.

All information we presently hold about you can be viewed and, if appropriate, updated through your account page. Additionally, we also work with certain 3rd party companies to collect anonymous analytical data (information about how the website is accessed and navigated), for the purpose of providing verified reviews and for affiliate marketing, as described below.

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to be able to process and fulfil any order placed with us, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping, e.g. accounting.
  • For compliance with legislation (such as minimum age, for the purchasing of alcohol).
  • To reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions, protecting both ourselves and you as our customer.
  • To improve the products and services that we offer.
  • If you have opted to receive communication from us:
    • we may periodically send promotional messages about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting to the email address which you have provided.
    • we may contact you in relation to recent orders for the purposes of soliciting feedback about specific products or our service in geneal.

For the purpose of completing your order, we will provide elements of this information (principally name, delivery address and associated contact information) to the courier company we select for shipping.

Anonymous data is shared as part of the Google Analytics service for the purposes of monitoring the performance of our site. For more information in relation to this and the methods of data collection, please visit their site.

In the event that you were referred to our site through an affiliate link, when you complete a purchase with us then limited details of the order (including order number, item quantity and total purchase amount) will also be shared with the affiliate company, to allow them to process any promotions as per the terms of their site. If your browser blocks page content of 3rd party origin, such as is done by certain ad block extensions, or if you accessed the site without following a specific affiliate link, this functionality may not operate correctly and you may not receive the appropriate rewards.

Finally, for the purpose of receiving feedback in relation to products and services, we do operate in association with Trustpilot. As such information, confirming that you have placed an order with us, will be shared with them for the purpose of obtaining verified, independent reviews.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Additionally, as part of a series of routine system and security upgrades, passwords for any accounts created before 23rd May 2018 were invalided. How we use cookies

If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Le Bon Vin, 340 Brightside Lane, Sheffield, S9 2SP with details of what information you require, sufficient details for us to locate the information and identify you and a cheque / postal order for £10.00 payable to Le Bon Vin Ltd.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible, using the above details. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
