There can be few places associated with the development of New Zealand wine that has such unique historical significance as Mission Estate Winery. Established in 1851, Mission Estate is New Zealand's oldest winemaker. Over 150 years of experience and passion have culminated in the current collection of Mission Estate, Vineyard Selection, Reserve and Jewelstone award winning wines. Grapes are sourced predominantly from Hawke's Bay, with modern viticulture and winemaking techniques practiced to ensure the long-standing reputation for quality is maintained.

    A Hawkes Bay Syrah with vibrant spicy berry notes and a rich fruity mid palate.

    The Gimblett Gravels fruit has contributed to the warm spicy character. It has a peppery aroma with cherries and raspberries leading to a slightly chocolatey palate, with good fruit and balanced acidity. Partially barrel aged creating a long soft palate with classic pepper flavours on the finish.

  3. Mission Estate Hawke's Bay Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017
    This Gimblett Gravels Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep vibrant colour and a nose that has complex aromas of cassis, coffee and tobacco. The palate is medium to full-bodied with nice acidity and a fine structure. The tannins are ripe and the flavours mature. This is a classic ripe Cabernet that has good palate complexity. It is a wine with great structure that is well balanced with good fruit weight; having the potential to age gracefully for five to ten years. Learn More

    This wine has a inky deep crimson colour which delivers generous flavours on the palate. Rich and mouth filling with ripe fruit, creamy oak and ripe tannins which add structure and a wonderful balance of fruit and oak. You will find plums, blueberries, a touch of liquorice, a suggestion of anise and lingering pepper on the savoury finish. Totally delicious and a very rare wine!
