Malbec Reserve, Raza, 2017
With deep violet colours and ruby hues, this Malbec Reserve is one to be savoured slowly and admired in the glass. Aromas of red and black fruit, most notably plums and cherries predominate the nose. Meanwhile, the palate is heavily influenced by the oak in which the wine has matured. The bouquet is also heavily influenced by the oak ageing with vanilla, dark chocolate and tobacco all present and adding complex layers to this fantastic wine.
The La Riojanas is a co-operative in the Famatina Valley. The chief wine maker is Rodolfo Griguol whose job it is to make sure that only the best wines from the Famatina Valley are used. The grapes for their wines are grown in Argentina across a wide strip located to the west of the country, at the foot of the Andes mountain range, which extends from 22 ° to 40 ° south latitude, covering the entire temperate zone.
