    Barossa Shiraz is the benchmark for Australian red wines with the most famous of them, Penfolds Grange, using the large proportions of the variety from this area.

    The Berton Reserve Shiraz is the darkest red but with a youthful and vibrant garnet hue. The aromas are powerful and complex with a wealth of fruit ranging from ripe black cherries and blackberries with hints of eucalyptus and spice. The rich and full palate displays soft flavours of plums, mulberry and hints of vanilla and blackberry, underpinned by vanillin oak and defined by exciting spicy tannins.

    From the relatively newly registered sub-region (High Eden) in the Eden Valley, Barossa, comes this stunning Cabernet from Berton Vineyards. This unspoilt area has a cool climate, high winds, low growing-season rainfall and relatively poor soils, not terribly appealing to us but perfect for the vines. The resulting grape harvest is low yield, further intensifying the fruit. The palate is intense and complex with ripe blackberry and cherry.
