This Primitivo by Angelo Rocca has an intense ruby red colour with violet tints. On the nose the perfume is concentrated, characteristic of ripened grapes with a hint of cherries and the palate is dry, solid yet deliciously velvety. Learn More
  • Primitivo Puglia IGT, Messer del Fauno

The Primitivo grape variety traditionally grows in Puglia (the “heel” of Italy), where it was introduced in the 18th century. The grape found its way to the United States in the mid-19th century, and became known by variations of the name “Zinfandel”. The grapes typically produce a robust red wine.

Messer Del Fauno Primitivo is deep, ruby red in colour and has delicous aromas of ripe dark berries. These ripe dark berries flavours continue through to the palate leading to a little smoke and oak on the finish. Pair this red wine with  spicy grilled meat dishes, spicy tomato sauces and spicy soups.

  • Primitivo di Manduria, Matteo Rocca

Produced from Primitivo grapes from old vines cultivated in the Manduria area (Apuglia Region - Southern Italy). After 18 months ageing in big oak barrels before bottling it's bouquet is rich and complex, with pleasant ripened fruits like blackberry and cherry, licorice and spice notes. Full bodied in taste, velvety, supple with good persistence. Goes well with seasoned and tasty cheese, game and chocolate desserts. Learn More
  • Barricone, Primitivo Puglia IGT

The winemaker chose only the best Primitivo (Zinfandel) grapes from old vines in Apulia, the heel of Italy. Ageing in large oak barrels added vanilla notes to the cherry and fresh plum fruit aromas. A great food wine that is round and full with gentle tannins and a jammy finish. Pairs well with pasta bolognese, pizza, braised and grilled meat, game, medium strength cheese and, surprisingly, chocolate cake!

  • Vintage Rosso Salento, Rocca Estate

Rocca only releases their vintage red in the best years and the result is a huge, yet soft and supple red. Old vines from small vineyards supply the fruit while five years of ageing in oak casks finishes the process, although you could age this wine for a further 10 years or more. Pleasant spicy notes appear in the almost endless finish. Suits roasted and braised meat, game and full flavoured cheese. Learn More
  • Primitivo di Manduria 'TORRICELLE', Matteo Rocca

Rigorous selection of mature grapes in a great vintage like 1997, and complete storage in big traditional oak vats for five years has produced this very fine example with its bouquet and aromas denoting a superb concentration finishing on soft and smooth tannins. Torricelle (small towers) takes its name from the towers one sees all over the ionic coast, where they were built as watch tower to forewarn of Turkish and Saracen invaders. Learn More
