    Verrazzano's Chianti Classico, like others in the Greve area of Chianti have typically more concentrated flavours than in Castellina, Gaiole or Castelnuovo Berardegna. However, this is a classic Chianti, deep ruby red in colour with aromas of mature fruits like cherry and blackberry. Light in body with a little oak (from 18 months in barrel) with fine grained tannins and pleasant bursts of juicy wild cherry, cinnamon and a hint of star anise.

  • Chianti Classico, Acino d'Oro, Bottega

    The Chianti Classico Bottega Acino d'Oro is born in vineyards located in the historical area of Tuscany, Italy. It is made with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested only by hand. After crushing, the fermentation takes place with maceration in wooden vats at a controlled temperature for about 15 days. What follows is a period of ageing in oak barrels for 3-4 months. This fine Chianti Classico has aromas of fruit and spices with a fresh and dry, balanced and slightly tannic palate.

    Pairs well with red meats, cured meats and seasoned cheeses.

  • Castello di Verrazzano, Chianti Classico Riserva

    Produced only in top vintages (the first was in 1924) the Riserva is one of the most representative wines of the winery and best expresses the varietal characteristics of Sangiovese.

    It's an intense ruby colour with aromas of ripe red fruits, followed by hints of tobacco, black pepper and sweet wood. The palate is savoury with morello cherry, liquorice and clove with tannins that blend in well with the fruity component. Long lasting finish and, like the Gran Selezione, it can stand up to full flavoured dishes such as grilled meats, roasts and ripe cheese.

    A veritable super Tuscan since 1982, the Castello di Verrazzano Gran Selezione competes with the very best Chianti's in Tuscany. 

    100% Sangiovese creates a unique wine with a deep and impenetrable ruby red colour. Fruity aromas of cherries, blackberries, raspberries are underlined by hints of oak and vanilla. While in the mouth it's elegant and complex with closely woven tannins both smooth and pleasant joined to notes of fruit and spice, oak and vanilla. Expect a long finish.

    Best served 18-20°C with roasts, game and ripe cheese.
