Catalunya

Catalyuna, or Catalonia in English, is a region apart from the rest of Spain – from their politics, attitudes, and outlook, to the creativity found in wines from the region. The combination of warm Mediterranean climate and cooler, subalpine slopes in their northern hills makes for great vine growing conditions – and the scope for quality wine production is not wasted. 95% of Cava - the Spanish answer to Champagne – is produced in Catalunya on the fertile plateau around the wine capital of Sant Sadurni d’Anoia in Penedes.
