Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2006 (The Distillers Edition)
The juiciest of Talisker whiskies, Distiller’s Edition 2006 is a clean marriage of intense pepper and sultana sweetness, thanks to twice ageing in Amoroso cask wood. This richer, rounder flavour is smoky and slightly peppery with oak and fruit. The finish is balanced, sweet and dry with cocoa, vanilla and smoke.

Far away from any neighbour in the coastal community of Carbost on Skye is one of the finest and remote distilleries of all, with a rich history that goes back to 1830.
The MacAskill’s built Talisker Distillery against the protestations of the local parish minister who declared this ‘one of the greatest curses that…could befall it or any other place’. Luckily many did not agree including the writer Robert Louis Stevenson who considered it ‘The king o’drinks.’
Their five stills, that were faithfully restored after a fire in 1960, use worm tubs rather than a modern condenser, which are believed to give the whisky a "fuller" flavour. Also Talisker's soft, peaty process water is drawn from 21 underground springs that rise from Hawk Hill beside the distillery. These same springs have fed Talisker from the beginning.
