    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

Brasserie de Silly have made their mark by, on the one hand, offering a range of traditional Belgian beers; and on the other, by launching quirky brews such as this, the Silly Bio Pils.

Milder than Silly Pils, this thirst-quencher has a malty taste that is followed by touches of bitter hops that don’t linger overlong and do not descend into tartness. A light pils beer with an amazing taste.

  • Biere Pink Killer 25cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

Recent times have seen Brasserie de Silly continue its development into new beer styles. 2004 saw the launch of the Pink Killer, a fruity white beer with an aroma of grapefruit.

It is a pleasant, slightly sweet, fruity thirst-quencher based on malt, wheat and pink grapefruit, hence its striking colour and the whiff of citrus. The freshly peeled grapefruit with a touch of orange peel leads to a light-medium body with a crisp clean finish. A very tasty beer with a pronounced sweetness when you just want to satisfy your thirst.

  • Biere Silly Saison 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

The Saison (farmhouse ale) is a humble regional beer style that was brewed in the quiet winter months and satisfied the thirsts of farmers and fieldworkers out in the fields in the busy summer.  30 years ago, this style was unknown and only appreciated by older drinkers from the area where it was brewed. Now it’s really popular among beer aficionados and the Saison de Silly is considered one of the best.

It stands out from the classic ‘saisons’ through its amber colour, a fruity aroma, and zesty touches, with a hint of caramel compounding its light bitterness. It’s has a unique, light taste but at the same time subtle touches of sweets and fruit. A zesty, refreshing beer that calls out for another one.

  • Biere Double Enghien Blonde 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

The original Double Enghien that was brewed by Tennstedt-Decroes, in Enghien, was an amber saison. When Brasserie de Silly bought the brewery, they changed it into a straight blond beer, as they already had a saison (farmhouse beer) – the Saison de Silly. Several variants of the Double have since been introduced.

The top-fermented, regional style beer has spicy and hoppy aromas that strike first with a shrug of acidity on the tongue and a nice dry bitter aftertaste. It’s a well-balanced blonde beer, in which no ingredient is overpowering. Thirst quenching and delicious.

  • Biere Abbaye de Forest 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

The Abbaye de Forest tickles the taste buds with fruity impressions of raisins that culminate in a pleasantly zesty, subtly bitter finish. It’s a blonde abbey-style beer characterised by a touch of hops, a good balance of sweet and bitter flavours and a rather pronounced character.

The name of the beer refers to the Benedictine Abbaye de Forest that existed from 1106 until 1764, when the abbey was destroyed by a fire. Also, there is a cheese maker from Thoricourt (a small town near to the brewery), who produces a 'beer cheese' using Silly's very-own Abbaye de Forest.

  • Biere Green Killer IPA 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

The Green Killer IPA (India Pale Ale) is a well-hopped beer with quite a high rating on the bitterness scale. Its powerful aromas include touches of citrus and spice. In the rather dry finish, the malt comes to the fore beautifully.

Brasserie de Silly enjoys a reputation as a traditional family brewery producing honest Belgian specialty beers - the Scotch de Silly or La Divine for example. However, this brewery, also markets less traditional beers such as this, the Green Killer IPA. This blonde beer, launched in 2014, will amaze you with its splendid balance between powerful aromas and flavours of malt and hops.

Dry hopping towards the end of the brewing process gives an extra hop boost while citrus and pepper are dominant touches in this beer’s strong aromas. Green Killer IPA provides a solid bitterness, especially towards the end. The dry finish perfectly complements an earlier malty taste. This is a speciality beer aimed at people who like bitter.

  • Biere Double Enghien Brune 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

In 1975 Brasserie de Silly took over the Tennstedt-DeCroes brewery in nearby Enghien and their range was significantly broadened by this. Double Enghien, a beer that enjoyed some local popularity at the time, was added.

At 8.0% ABV the brune is reasonably high in alcohol yet this is barely noticeable due to the abundance of flavour. Excellent malt aromas are lifted on a breeze of alcohol with a slight hint of coconut and caramel. Thick and chewy in the mouth with malty caramel, boiled sweets and malt whisky notes. A long, dry and slightly bitter finish completes this supremely smooth and drinkable amber coloured ale.

  • Biere Scotch Silly 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

At the time of World War 1, outside of the city of Silly, a regiment of Scottish soldiers were stationed and they naturally requested a Scotch Ale from the brewery. Unfortunately, the brewers couldn't come up with the beer, because they hadn't mastered that beer style – and neither could they access the sugars necessary to brew it. A Scottish soldier called Jack Peyne helped develop this beer and, when the hostilities ended, he remained in the village, teaching the Silly brewers how to make a genuine Scotch ale. He continued working at the brewery for many years. That recipe created at the end of the First World War still stands to this day, and Kent Golding hops are still used.

Scotch de Silly stands out with sweet aromas of toffee, brown sugar, caramel and maple syrup with hints of hazel nuts. The beer develops this very sweet taste thanks to the candy sugar it is brewed with. In the background, you get a hunch of nuttiness. A classic Scotch ale that goes well with soups and stews.

  • Biere Blonde de Villee 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

Blonde de Villée was created from a close collaboration between the Biercée Distillery who make Eau de Villée (a premium quality lemon liqueur) and the Silly Brewery. Eau de Villée owes its name to the little stream that runs behind the Biercée distillery where it is produced. Made from fresh Murcia lemons blended with four other fresh fruit brandies – not dissimilar to the Italian limoncello.

The result of this team work is a thirst-quenching and delicate naturally cloudy lager with a fruity nose of fresh lemon. A smooth and medium bodied mouth feel, with a small sweet tart lemon on the finish.

The overriding impression is one of sweetness, picked up by the nose as well as the tongue. This strong fruit beer with its deep red colour makes a great addition to the extensive range offered by this family brewery.

  • Biere La Divine 33cl

    MINIMUM ORDER 6 BOTTLES

La Divine is a beer that was created by Silly upon request. A beer distributor from Battice, in Liege, had found an old local recipe. He asked Brasserie de Silly to produce a beer from it, back in the early nineties. Silly promptly obliged.

La Divine is a very strong amber triple, one that's smooth and easy to drink. Accessible for most beer drinkers and yet complex enough in taste and flavours to please the experts. The name ‘La Divine’ is said to refer to the divine qualities of the brew - and maybe to the ‘divine chance’ to have found that original recipe.

On the nose, there are aromas of barley and wine and sweet candy-sugar tones, with plenty of fruitiness. The taste is slightly sweet and fruity, with just a touch of caramel. A velvety-smooth beer with a rich mouth-feel, hoppy notes and on the finish, a subtle bitterness with smoky impressions.
