Cantine Lenotti

According to an eonological map dated 1906, the name Lenotti was already known for the production of Bardolino classico. At that time the cantine sold wines exclusively in butts or demijohns. In the following years up to 1968 the farm constantly increased its production of high-quality wines, by making wine from local grapes and supplying the numerous bottlers of the neighbourhood. Since 1968, the farm has been bottling and selling its wines directly.

Currently the cantine is run by the Lenotti family. All its members are involved in the running of the business: parents - Giancarlo (oenologist , production manager and facilities supervisor), Marina (sales manager for the home market), and their son Claudio (export manager).

At home on the banks of Lake Garda in the heart of the hilly area of Bardolino which is particularly well suited to the growing of vines. From its 100 plus ha of specialised vineyards, Lenotti produce a wide range of regional wines and pride themselves on the quality of their products.

  4. Bardolino Classico, 'Chiaretto' Lenotti Estate

    This Rosé or 'Chiaretto' as it is known locally, is sourced from the Eastern shores of Lake Garda and is light, crisp and beautifully refreshing. Chiaretto is based on the same grapes as Bardolino. During vinification, the juice is allowed to macerate briefly on the skins which releases a small amount of pigment and aromatic compounds. Lenotti have created a wonderful example here that has fruity delicate aromas of peach blossom and a dry pleasant finish.

    Cantine Lenotti have produced a fine Valpolicella DOC Classico which is the result of the best quality Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, grown in the classic area of Valpolicella, north of Verona.

    Dry, full-bodied and intense red wine boasting a bouquet with a hint of almonds. Velvety in the mouth and drinking very well now, although it can be cellared 4-5 years. Great with roasts, grilled meat, game and mature cheeses.

  9. Decus Lugana, Lenotti Estate

    Lugana is a dry, Italian white wine, originating from the vineyard of the same name south of Lake Garda. The wine has DOC status and consists of the Trebbiano grape variety. It matures in stainless steel tank (for a fresh, crisp taste) for about 6 months and has a rich, fruity bouquet with good structure.

    Great on it's own or with fish, sea-food, hors d'oeuvre and lighter dishes.

  10. Valpolicella Classico Ripasso, Lenotti Estate

    The Lenotti ‘Le Crosare’ Valpolicella Ripasso is the result of the highest quality Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grape varieties, coming from the classic area of Valpolicella north of Verona. The winemaking process has a brief “ripasso” (re-passing) on the grape skins of the Amarone which gives this red extra body and flavour.

    It is a well-structured wine, intense ruby red colour with a bouquet that is fine and intense. Dry and savoury in the mouth it is full bodied and velvety. Drinking very well now although it has the potential to improve if cellared 4-5 years after harvest. Highly recommend by the Le Bon Vin team.
