Bunnahabhain, Stiuireadair, Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Amber gold in colour with dried fruit, caramel and sweet vanilla on the nose. This whisky offers a creamy and smooth palate with hints of nuts, gentle spice, and coasted sea salt, followed by hints of rich dried fruit and a long and lingering finish. The blender has spent a lot of time carefully selecting casks with the spirit of varying ages from the corners of our shore side warehouses to create this distinctive dram, with its rich proportion of sherry casks used. Chill filtering is also avoided so you can enjoy the whisky's full flavour as intended by nature.
As any sailor will tell you, making the right decisions and battling the elements is part of getting where you want to be. Building a distillery in such a remote location wasn't that easy choice, but it was the right one. Chosen for its gentle coastal climate, the abundance of clear spring water and natural harbour, the mouth of the river - or Bunnahabhain - became home to a unique, unpeated Islay whisky.
