As part of the Cavavin European network of over 200 stores, mainly in France, we offer an exclusive selection of estate wines, champagnes, and spirits sourced directly from more than 600 independent family-owned vineyards across France and beyond.
Our experienced team provides friendly, personalised service, whether you are selecting a special bottle, choosing a gift, or seeking food pairing advice. Many of our wines are exclusive to the Cavavin buying group, offering access to unique selections not widely available elsewhere.
OUR HISTORY
Le Bon Vin Ltd, the wholesale division behind Cavavin Sheffield, was founded in 1986 by Brittany-born Patrick Jouan, continuing a family wine merchant heritage from his grandfather Ernest Jouan in the 40s. Together with his wife Dianne, he has developed the business into one of the North of England’s leading independent wine merchants.
Based near Meadowhall in Brightside, the company supplies carefully selected wines and spirits to retailers, pubs, and wine merchants across the UK and beyond. A private dedicated bonded warehouse less than a mile away ensures fast, efficient service for wholesale, franchise, and export clients.

We take pride in offering a diverse and continually evolving portfolio of wines, bottled at source to preserve freshness with minimal chemical intervention. Our buying team carefully selects authentic wines from independent producers that truly reflect their region and heritage.
By avoiding mass-produced wines and sourcing directly from family-owned vineyards, we continue to offer customers both trusted favourites and rare discoveries from around the world. Our range includes award-winning estates such as Mission Estate Winery in New Zealand, established in 1851, and France’s historic Château de Passavant, dating back to 928 alongside many other outstanding family-owned estates worldwide.
