Escudo Rojo is a fine blend of traditional grape varieties. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah and Cabernet Franc grapes are selected and vinified in the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile bodega. Year after year, the subtle combination yields a round, complex and concentrated wine with attractively expressive fruit. The attack is powerful and complex. Supported by beautifully mature tannins, the rich and smooth mid-palate gradually reveals raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry flavors. It goes on to express a perfect marriage of ripe black fruit, fresh black pepper and spicy notes. The powerful and stylish finish reveals all the character of the Chilean terroir, combining the elegance of Cabernet with the roundness and powerful flavor of Syrah and Carmenere.

Escudo Rojo is the Hispanic translation of the German "Rote Schild", emblem of the family.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile, a wholly-owned Chilean subsidiary of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, was established to make the best Chilean wines in each category, and market them worldwide.
Located at Buin-Maipo, 45 kilometers south of Santiago in the famous Maipo Valley, the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile bodega stands in its own 63-hectare (156-acre) vineyard. Its sober and elegant wood and steel architecture reflects the combination of the latest technology with the great French winemaking tradition. The wines are made, matured, bottled and packaged at the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile bodega under the supervision of a French winemaker and under the control of an in-house laboratory.

Free Delivery on Orders Over £120
Orders over £120 qualify for free delivery to mainland UK addresses.
Next Working Day Delivery
Where possible, orders placed before 2:00pm will be dispatched the same day, subject to stock availability. All orders are shipped using a next working day delivery service; however, delivery times cannot be guaranteed due to circumstances outside of our control.
Orders placed after 2:00pm on Friday will be dispatched on Monday for Tuesday delivery (excluding Bank Holidays).
Age Verification Deliveries
In line with UK alcohol licensing regulations, all alcohol deliveries require an adult aged 18 or over to be present at the delivery address to accept the order. Our delivery partners may request photographic identification as proof of age.
If no one over 18 is available to receive the parcel, the courier will leave a notification with instructions on how to rearrange delivery for a more suitable time.
