A wonderfully versatile pinot noir from Frey Sohler. A beautiful fruity and light pinot noir that’s a lovely light red-purple colour. Notes of flora and a black cherry and long and full mouthfeel.
This wine accompanies white meats such as pork and chicken wonderfully as well as red meats and strong cheeses. The perfect all-round dinner accompaniment that won’t disappoint.
HVE Certified
HVE is a French agricultural certification that recognises a high level of commitment to protecting and enriching the environment by all kinds of agricultural operations, including vineyards. It stands for ‘Haute Valeur Environnementale‘ – High Environmental Value. It is particularly focused on four key areas: biodiversity conservation, flora protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water use. HVE certified vineyards are not necessarily organic, which can be extremely difficult to practice consistently in wet regions, but certification shows that they are making significant and diverse efforts to practice viticulture in the most sustainable way possible.
Domaine Frey-Sohler
The Frey-Sohler estate has evolved through several generations, all intimately linked with the local village of Scherwiller and the wines of Alsace. Currently occupying 29 hectares, the estate is run by Damien and Nicolas SOHLER. It is included within the “Scherwiller” Appellation Communale, and runs across the rocky slopes of the Rittersberg, at the foot of the imposing Château de l’Ortenbourg, which looks down upon these magnificent vineyards.
