Domaine de Régusse
Founded in 1970 at the foot of the Luberon Mountain, Domaine de Regusse is a relatively young winery planted with 20 different grape varieties. They practice environmentally respectful agriculture, using minimally invasive methods to preserve both terroir and tradition. The climate here, while exhibiting characteristics of the Mediterranean type, is moderated significantly by the presence of the Alps and the high altitude of the vineyards. Hot, sunny summer days are followed by much cooler nights as air from the Alps descends into the vineyards. Thus, wines from Alpes-de-Haute-Provence are lighter and more aromatic than the richer, more supple wines from lower-lying vineyards to the south.
