The Grande Passolo is a high-quality wine made from carefully selected Negroamaro and Primivito grapes. These grapes are softly pressed and aged in large oak casks at Rocca Estates' Apulian facility. The wine boasts an intense ruby red colour and a rich bouquet of ripe red fruit, including raspberries, blackberries, and cherries, with hints of vanilla and oak.
It has a well-rounded body and texture, with gentle tannins that contribute to its balanced and harmonious character. The aroma is wonderfully intense, making it a perfect match for Mediterranean savoury dishes, roasted red meat, and seasoned cheeses.
Angelo Rocca
At the end of XIX century, Francesco Rocca started his historical business by selling loose wine. In 1936 his son Angelo enhanced the wine production and built a cellar in Nardò, Apulia. In the 1960's the first bottling line was bought and thus started the distribution of products under the Rocca brand. Today, Ernesto Rocca (the founder's grandson) shares responsibility with his sons Paolo, Marco, Luca and Matteo who help run the family business, a business which also includes a construction company and a leading trot horse stud farm.
