Domaine Lafond
The Lafond family have been involved in wine growing since 1780. Valery Taulier, built the first private cellar in Tavel during 1948 and Jean-Pierre Lafond, Valery Taulier's son-in-law, decided to create the present cellar in 1970. Fond of horses, he gave his Domaine the name of a famous horse (Roquepine). He just changed the spelling to give it a touch of Provence. Domaine Lafond Roc-Epine was born. The introduction of the excellent Chateauneuf du Pape in 2001 was a step in the right direction and this domaine keeps going from strength to strength.

Rhone
The mighty Rhone River that cuts through the French countryside and lends it name to this auspicious wine region is the uniting force of the great tracts of farmland and vineyards either side of it. Some of the oldest vineyards in France decorate the valley, and the Rhone wine region produces quality wines that can compete with some of the finest Bordeaux and Burgundy wines on the market. It was not always this way however, and as the world catches up to the true richness available in Rhone wines, there are some excellent value wines to be found.
