Domaine de Maisonneuve Macquin, St Georges Saint Emilion, 2019
Bordeaux, France
A classic Right Bank claret! Aged for 12-18 months in oak barrels, this is a serious wine with ripe fruit laced by subtle spice. Aromas of red fruit with sweet spices mix with savoury, woody notes. The palate is round and supple, with soft tannins on the finish.

Domaine de Maisonneuve
François-Albert Macquin took over this domaine in St George St Emilion in 1885 (the same year he purchased Pavie Macquin) and it is today run by his grandson, Denis Corre-Macquin. Bordering Saint-Emilion proper, the vines are located on a south-facing hilltop with excellent exposure and chalky soils, both ideal for quality Merlot.
