Chateau Queyssard Bordeaux Superieur
- Buy 2 for £12.50 each and save 11%
The first wine from Chateau Queyssard is a typical Bordeaux blend with the soft and round qualities of Merlot, spice and fruitiness from Cabernet Franc and structure and density from Cabernet Sauvignon. With a history dating back to 1890 this family owned Chateau has gone through many changes throughout the years, from a focus on fruit production (pears, apples, plums) and cattle farming, to 1998 when all 48 acres were planted with vines. Now, after updating the cellars the farm abides by the rules of 'agriculture raisonnee' which protects the land, keeping it healthy and as free of pesticides as possible.
This classic Bordeaux draws you in with its beautiful colour and tempting aromas of red fruits. On the palate it is silky and structured with red fruit notes and balanced tannin. Well suited to steak, steak tartare, lamb, duck breast dishes and while it's drinking well now, it has potential to age well for another 5 years.
