Baron d'Ardeuil, Buzet, 2019
Baron d'Ardeuil was a lieutenant of Joan of Arc, a native of Buzet who has given his name to a cuvée des vignerons de Buzet, which combines old vines of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
During the harvest, a rigorous selection is made to keep only the ripest fruit, these are then the object of a very extractive vinification, to obtain the finest tannins while preserving the fruitiness of the grapes. Two thirds of the cuvée are finally aged in oak barrels, the last third being in stainless steel vats.
This wine offers notes of very ripe black fruits highlighted by toasted and vanilla notes. With its powerful and tannic mouthfeel, it is a wine to decant several hours before serving and which will be able to flourish a few years in cellar.
