Vina del Pedregal Kidia Reserva Merlot, 2018
Intense purple red colour with some bluish reflections. Great fruity character, highlighting aromas of blackberries, black cherry and blueberries. The palate is broad, round and well structured tannins, slightly spicy where the fruit is integrated with attractive notes of roasted coffee, toffee and semi bitter chocolate.
Kidia is another name for the orchid, a flower with around 35,000 different species. This family of wines offers a range of varieties, each of which have been assigned a specific species of this delicate flower. The wine seeks to transmit this flower’s elegance, colour and complexity.

Vina del Pedregal
Vina del Pedregal brings together an almost 200-year-old tradition, which begins with Carlos Adolfo del Pedregal's journey from Asturias to the Loncomilla Valley. In 1825, thanks to the land’s high quality and the location’s optimal climatic conditions, the vineyard became one of the first to incorporate a range of French grape varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cot, all imported from Bordeaux.
Keeping a dream alive for over 200 years is in and of itself a feat worth telling. The spirit that’s been passed on from generation to generation reflects their love for both the trade and land that previous generations developed and worked on for years. With time and commitment, they have grown to position themselves as one of the oldest and most recognized vineyards in our country. The first Del Pedregal family member would probably be glad to learn that his wines would one day return to the old country and tour the world.
