Languedoc-Roussillon
Stretching over a substantial area of land from the Massif Central to the eastern edges of the Pyrenees, the Languedoc Roussillon wine region is an amalgamation of different types of terrain, altitude, and terroir producing a wide range of quality wines since Roman times. The soils and climate of the area combine to make an ideal environment for vine growing, which is why the Languedoc Roussillon wine region accounts for about 40% of France’s total wine production.
