Tasting Notes
Mindful of our ideal Mediterranean climate with warm summers, Hugh has chosen a very up-front, in your face, style for his Tempranillo. The 2010 is amongst the most spicy that we have made, with hints of clove and anise. Its fruit characters are beautifully evident: maraschino cherries and mulberries. Its most fascinating aspect is an aromatic hint of Asia! - like walking past a Chinese restaurant preparing Peking Duck.... The palate has a savoury note - it’s spicy, fleshy, and generous, yet pleasantly drying. It’s very Tempranillo. Enjoy as the Spanish would with tapas: a slice or two of good Spanish Jamon; Manzanilla olives & Manchego cheese.
