Tasting Notes
On the nose this fine Coteaux du Layon shows expressive aromas of pear and sweet apple. On the palate the it is fruity with a mineral hint and a delicate sweetness that complements its acidity and freshness. This is an elegant soft and easy drinking white that is ideal with blue cheese or foie gras.
Other Notes
Château de Passavant was built by Foulques Nerra in the 12th Century, on a site that has long been fortified, overlooking the River Layon, whose slopes are well known for their great wines.In 1998 they converted to organic methods out of a desire for durable winegrowing and a respect for “terroir”.
