Tasting Notes
The vine stocks are between 50 and 83 years old. This wine has a pure, freshly refined bouquet. Plentiful on the palate, with tones of butter and fresh walnuts. It has an excellent balance between strength and delicacy as well as an impressive lasting and elegant after-taste.
Accompanies lightly grilled scallops, fish and smoked meats, chicken or veal in a delicate cream sauce.

Other Notes
A family owned vineyard since 1846, the Estate started off with four hectares in 1950, mainly consisting of the Romorantin grape variety. From the 1960’s they dedicated themselves to the constant evolution and growth of the vineyard. The history of the Estate is linked to the history of the Romorantin grape variety. It is one of the most interesting and rare grape variety to exist. Francis the First, King of France, introduced the Romorantin in 1519, when he ordered 80 000 vine stocks to be transplanted from their Burgundy home to his mother’s castle in Romorantin. This grape variety adapted magnificently to the climate as well as the soil and thus adopted the name Romorantin; of which the appellation of Cour-Cheverny has exclusive rights. Rare, it is full of vivacity, intensity, balanced with delicacy; it is a wine that can be aged.
