Tasting Notes

Pommeau is a blend of pure apple juice and young Calvados which gives a strength of 17% ABV. There is a balance between the sweetness of the apple juice and the spirit of the Calvados. Pommeau should be drunk chilled as an aperitif. It has the advantage over Pineau in that it is most useful in both sweet and savoury cooking bringing a full apple flavour to many dishes.

Other Notes

Frederic Pacory took over the family farm, the Domaine Grimaux, at the beginning of the 1990's. His father produced Calvados, as did his Grandfather. Today the family run estate prduce a fine range of Cider and Calvados and pride themselves on the excellent quality of their products. In addition to the pear and apple trees on the property, the family also raise Norman cows.
