| A great Petite Champagne Cognac from a top producer. Presented in a wooden box this 1973 vintage makes an ideal gift. Forming a semi-circle around to the south of the Grande Champagne are the vineyards of the Petite Champagne - about 16,000 hectares in all. Although still chalky, here the soils are lighter and the resulting cognacs are slightly less intense than those from the Grande Champagne. Their aroma tends to be more fruity than floral, with a characteristic freshness and crispness on the palate. Petite Champagne cognacs usually achieve a soft, smooth taste at a younger age than their Grande Champagne neighbours. |

| The house of Francois de Marange is located in the heart of Grande Champagne area in Cognac. For eight generations the family has been producing some of the best Cognacs from the best growths available. Their Cognacs are aged in Limousin oak casks hidden from the light in cellars that are particularly humid, which gives an exceptional smoothness and mellowness to their Cognacs. |
